  An Interactive Lecture was organized by PG Dept. of Computer Science & IT.
 
 

Dr. Vijay P Bhatkar is an IT Computer Scientist who is known as Architect of the PARAM Series of Supercomputers, GIST multilingual technology and Education-To-Home visited the college campus on 19.08.2011 to delivered an Interactive Lecture on the growth of Information Technology and Telecommunication Sector in the Country for the BCA/BSc(IT)/BSc(CS) and MSc(CS) classes. He stressed on the topic that Information Technology and Communication Sector contributes nearly 10% of the national economy. He discussed with the students about his research work and shared his experiences.   Dr. Rajneesh Arora, Vice Chancellor, PTU, Jalandhar and  Dr. Somdev Bhardwaj, Secretary, Vigyan Bharati were also present in the Interactive Session. Dr. K N Kaul, Principal, DAV College, Amritsar welcomed the Guests.

  The college has a strong Alumini Association which has thousands of members worlds-wide. Every passout / faculty member automatically becomes the part and parcel of the entire DAV diaspora. The college organizes regular events / activities for the alumni and makes them a stake-holder in the college affairs. Plans are afoot for bringing our Alumni News letter, and for creating an Alimni Website.  
     
  Faculty Enrichment Service Defining & Refining  
     
  In order to update, sharpen and hone up the quality skills of the teachers, college lays maximum stress on faculty upgradation and enrichment through research projects, industrial and field visits, presentations, brainstorming sessions, extension lectures, educational visits, faculty exchange programs, heritage trips, interaction with visiting faculties etc.

In order to maintain a proper balance between the modern scientific thinking and the conventional value system, college has very finely sewn itself into the societal concerns. The college patronizes a number of blind institutes, leper houses, rehabilitation centres etc. A great promoter of value education, college has started a series of lectures and rallies to plug the students to Indian value system. Further, the college has an inbuilt mechanism which handles emergent situations caused by floods, droughts, earth quakes, starvation, epidemics etc.
